Threadless: One Day Left for $10 Sale, Feeding Frenzy Continues

I Hate Vegans by Aaron Jay from Threadless

We’ve been remiss in posting about Threadless sales…but either the sale would kick in and we couldn’t find a ton of inspiring shirts at the moment we looked or something else was distracting us, like we were trying to keep from being ejected out of an airlock or something. (Long story.) Anyway, there is still time to snag $10 tees in this particular sale, as it ends tomorrow at 5pm CT. And they have piled on the shirts, so there’s still a bunch worth snagging. And shirts, especially $10 ones, make handy things to bank in your gift closet for the right person and occasion. Plus: they have a HOLYSHIP code which, when used in conjunction with $25 worth of $10 shirts (yes, do the math yourself–and also $50 for international orders), gets you free shipping. Nice.

Anyway, some quick pointers to shirts of note. Obviously, the new “I Hate Vegans” protest shirt, designed by Aaron Jay, makes us very happy. I think it’s the indignant carrot front and center that does it for me. And maybe also because said carrot puts me in mind of a classic song, placed below the break for your convenience…

Headsup: Threadless Tee BBQ Sale

Threadless: Renaissance T-Shirt by Sebastien Heintz

Well, because we like to let you know about deals, we draw your attention to the Threadless Summer #TeeBBQ Sale. A huge amounts of t-shirts are $9.99. A couple of recommendations in a moment, but just remember this: Threadless tees make a great gift and you can bank them–especially the ones for kiddies–for occasions like birthdays and Christmas. Works for us, anyway. We could all use more $9.99 gift ideas, IMO.

First up, I do enjoy “Renaissance” by Sebastien Heintz (pictured). The design’s size on the shirt is a bit big for my taste, but the design itself is awesome. The addition of some “super glow-in-the-dark ink” is just the icing on the fashionably black t-shirt, so to speak.

The Sound Board #27: I’m All Out of Love and I’m Making a T-Shirt To Further Express This

Sad T-Shirt

This podcast generally covers music and other transgressions. This month’s episode is hosted by Prof. Tuffley, assisted by Dr. Rob Levy and Widge is in the sidecar.

This episode’s central topic is…television shows about music. We’re talking of the Soul Train, American Bandstand, Top of the Pops vein. They slowly but surely disappeared from our television screens. How and why? Before we get there, though, we also explore: Disney vs. Joy Division, Newt Gingrinch vs. Survivor, Capitol Music vs. ReDigi (the used digital music store), the Oscars vs. common sense, the Sasquatch music festival (aka Sasquatch vs. The Sound Board’s budget and travel plans), Metallica’s music festival, Ben Folds Five returns, so does 2 Live Crew, and M.I.A. vs. Madonna. Plus: remembering Etta James, Don Cornelius and Johnny Otis. And also we throw in a Valentine’s Day addendum for music for both love and anti-love.

Editor’s Note: this episode was recorded before the sad news about Whitney Houston.

One Big Happy Family (That Wants to Gnaw On You)

Family Once: Threadless

No doubt inspired a little bit by Dead Island, we are compelled by our rule (“If it’s undead and bleeds, it leads”) to place this on the front page. It’s “A Family Once” by Jay Fleck. It’s a bloody shame it’s the wrong color, however. But man, it’s one of Threadless’ best zombie shirts in some time.

Also of note for recent updates is the Lord of the Rings vs. Monty Python mashup, “Impasse” by Verso. And they’ve reduced the awesome pirates vs. dog t-shirt “Reburied Treasure” by David Soames and Nathan W. Pye to $12.
