My Advice: Avoid It.
Okay. Don't lose your place otherwise you'll be lost forever. Hans is the leader of a Crusade to the Holy Land in the 13th Century. What he doesn't realize, though, is that the Pope has actually sold him and the rest of the young men involved into slavery. When he realizes that he's been betrayed, he vows to come back and have his revenge as a fallen angel (since he might or might not have been an angel to begin with). He gets his wish and shows up in the present day in the form of Aiko, a schoolgirl. Aiko goes and enrolls somehow in St. Michaela's school where she learns that it's happening all over again--the private schoolgirls there are being trained as sex slaves for the military. Oh, and somehow in the far flung future there's peace and prosperity because Aiko and her schoolmates started a rebellion that changed the entire world. There's no more gods, no more countries...you know, it's like living in a John Lennon song. However, there's this other girl, see? Her name's Yuki and...oh Christ, my head hurts.
This is pretty much an anime travesty. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You're dealing with at least three different timelines, schoolgirls saving the world with swords, a pissed-off woman who lost her maybe husband or was it fiancee and decides to somehow get magical powers and go back and set things right. And then some. Everything is a throwaway, especially details that are kinda important to the plot, you know, like the fact there's a time tunnel that the Catholic Church owns. Or somebody owns, I'm not really sure. Regardless, the only thing that's not throwaway here are the sex scenes, usually girl-on-girl or...well, considering the instigators are both "androgynies" then I guess it's...I don't know what it is. I think my nose is bleeding.
Anyway, if you do happen to bad-luck into watching this thing, I highly recommend doing it in the original Japanese language with the English subtitles. The English dub sounds like it was performed by refugees from a bad community theatre. Or at least some of the characters from Waiting for Guffman.
As for extras, the ones on the disc consist of Sneak Peeks, a trailer for this title, and then a 10-second commercial for the Big Apple Anime Fest 2001--which is pretty useless considering that was last October. The trailer for this title is about as confusing as the title itself. Finally, some of the Sneak Peeks are actually much more entertaining than this.
In short, if you're one of those people who digs on schoolgirls saving the world or whatever, you would think this might be right up your alley--but don't be fooled. That's like being a fan of strippers and thinking, "Hey, Showgirls looks awesome!" So you've been warned. I need to go lie down now.
