My Advice: Find it on TV instead.
Each new school year brings change. However, this year, Kim and Ron (voiced by Romano and Friedle) are faced with quite a bit of change. Ron and his family are moving to Norway. Needless to say, this puts a little kink in the plans of their crimefighting team. Just as Ron gets on the plane, Kim gets a call that the Monkey Tempus Idol is in the process of being stolen from the museum. Ron does everything that he can to get there on time, but he's too late. Kim is overwhelmed by Dr. Drakken, Monkey Fist, Shego, and Duff Killigan (John DiMaggio, Tom Kane, Nicole Sullivan and Brian George, respectively). It seems that they've teamed up to terrorize the world. Kim discovers that the Monkey Tempus Idol is a key to an ancient time travel device and if this team is allowed to see their plans through, it could mean the end of the world as we know it!
Well, this could have been a lot worse. At least the writing is somewhat clever. However, the use of the slang-abbreviation "sitch" (hence the title) for "situation" gets quite a bit tiresome and trite. The plot is the stuff of breakfast cereal boxes, but the fast-paced nature of the direction keeps that from getting in the way. The animation is pretty good, but it feels like quite a bit of it is borrowed heavily from the anime genre. Now having said that, it's just my impression, and I don't claim to be a connoisseur of anime. The voice talent is excellent and they all seem to be having a good time with their roles. I especially like Michael Dorn--his casting as a "naked mole rat" that doubles as a secret weapon is especially hilarious. If I were him, I would be a little upset that the character he voices resembles a certain part of the male anatomy.
The DVD is pretty weak even for Disney, and especially for a series that is as popular as this one is. There is one game to be played and a music video on the DVD and that's all you get in terms of bonus material. When you consider the absolute lack of necessity of most music videos, this one actually seems to fit the story. It's very silly. It only lasts about ninety seconds, but it's silliness is abject and unredeemable. It's a fast-paced hip-hop number that takes a look at this...um...unusual character. The "Totally Awesome Tempus Simius Simulation Activity," as it's billed, is nothing more than a biographical timeline that spans past, present, and future for Kim, Rufus, and Ron. When you click on each one, you are shown a still image of the character with a short two to three sentence biography of them at that particular time in their life. If I were a fan of this show, I would feel like Disney had definitely skimped out, bonus-wise.
If you've never seen this show, I would suggest that you find it on one of the thousand Disney channels that are available on either cable or satellite television instead of renting this DVD.
