32 Days of Halloween XVII, Day 32
Vincent Price on Carson
The Lottery
Well, we’ve made it to the end once more. Seventeen years of this mayhem. Will there be eighteen? No idea. But come back next year to find out. In the meantime, here’s Vincent Price on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, back when fashion was truly in your face.
Now to a very disturbing, very natural version of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery.” You’ll notice this film was from Encyclopedia Britannica. America can be creepy with very little effort, this proves.
As always, for Halloween, we feature the source of all modern zombies: George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. Between the cinematography, the editing, the score mined from music libraries, and the performance of Duane Jones elevating everybody around him…it continues to the good stuff. Have a great first Halloween, everyone.
