32 Days of Halloween XVII, Day 28
Perils of a Haunted Building Site
Vampire Burials
Today, we go back to the BBC Archive for this 1976 report about a “haunted” construction site. This is genuinely hilarious, especially the bit about the choc ice and the toilet. No, don’t worry, it’s much more tame than that might lead you to believe. Just watch.
So I just recently stumbled across Milo Rossi, who does archaeology/science education videos and I find to be quite entertaining and informative. He just released this video talking about the history of vampire burials. And yes, thank you, let’s get some actual discussion of the reality of the legends and myths. You can only watch so many videos with people winking at the camera about such things before you start to go apeshit.
Sometimes it’s hard to find foreign, non-English horror movies. They exist, it’s just a lot of them aren’t on YouTube, or are on YouTube and the quality is horrendous, or are on YouTube and they have no subtitles. Are the subtitles are in Czech or something. Hell, half of the older Japanese films I read about online I’d be interested in featuring. And, well, the other half there’s no way in hell I would be comfortable having that on this website. But regardless, while it was released here as Revenge of the Dead, the Italian name is Zeder. It’s got a very Pet Sematary underlying idea (but it came out around the same time as the novel, so I don’t think anybody was copying anybody else…just one of those things) and it throws in a fun fact about old school typewriters that kids these days will probably marvel at. Enjoy.
