The Fury of the Wolfman!

32 Days of Halloween XVII, Day 19
Live Theatrical Blasphemy with Puppets

As I’ve said multiple times on my radio show: I will often just Google a nationality and a musical genre to see what happens. “Japanese Zydeco” is one of my favorite examples. But today just out of curiosity I Googled first “Poe puppet show” and “Lovecraft puppet show” and below are the findings. These are both recent and it looks like one of them I just missed when it came through Atlanta. These look completely demented and I applaud whatever weirdos created these showcases of morbid absurdity.

For tonight’s feature film: Paul Naschy apparently played the same character in twelve films. Count Waldemar Daninsky, a werewolf. However, according to Wikipedia (which is always right), the origin story about how Daninsky became cursed with lycanthropy could change from movie to movie. (In two, he was bitten by a Yeti. No, really.) So could we have the first cinematic multiverse here? Probably not. But it’s fun to think about some sort of Crisis de los Hombres Lobo Infinitos. Enjoy.
