The Hands of Orlac (1960)

32 Days of Halloween XVII, Day 6
Making of The Creature From the Black Lagoon
A Glowing Future

First up, a “Behind the Screams” featurette about Creature From the Black Lagoon. You hear from a lot of people involved with the film, you learn about Creature creator Milicent Patrick, and a look at the score for the film. Lovely.

Then over to Roald Dahl territory and a 1981 episode of Tales of the Unexpected. Though this story isn’t Dahl’s, it’s based on one by Ruth Rendell. What happens when a guy is about to leave for Australia to be with his new lover? Well, things are almost never that easy, are they?

I’m not sure why this says “lost remake.” To my knowledge, it was never lost. Anyway, here we have Mel Ferrer (two different films called Eaten Alive, no seriously) as the title role (well, Orlac, not just the hands) along with Christopher Lee and Donald Pleasence. We’ve posted other versions and now I think our collection is complete. Enjoy.
