Great Old Ones vs. Everybody,
Lights Out & Killer Fish!
So when I first saw the title “Cthulhu Mythos: The Animated Series,” I was thinking hey, maybe this is somebody doing Lovecraft + Bruce Timm artwork. But instead, here’s what the creator has to say:
The main idea was just to show, how quickly humanity would lose to the Great Old Ones, even despite their modern technological advances.
I really appreciate the judicious use of the word “their” there, putting themselves outside “humanity.” Begs a few questions. Anyway, if you’d like to see the inevitable carnage, check it out. If this was a series, it doesn’t look like it would last all that long.
So we’ve talked about Lights Out, the classic radio series, often. Not sure how often we’ve actually mentioned the TV series. Here we have an episode from its final season in 1951. “Dark Image.”
I haven’t been putting a lot of images in these, mostly sticking to videos. But tonight’s feature…well, I found the Belgian poster and it was just too good not to share. Look at that title.
That is fantastic. The poster is for sale here. Yes, it’s Killer Fish for tonight. Or, as it’s written in some places: Killerfish. Yes, the only thing standing between thieves and jewels is a metric ton (approx.) of piranha. Enjoy.
