What would the eighties have looked like without John Hughes? From Ferris Bueller singing “Twist & Shout” on the parade float to Bender’s defiant fist raise to Andie’s oh-so-pink prom dress, Hughes gave us beloved iconic movies that would change the landscape of film and culture forever. Now, just in time for the 35th anniversaries of Pretty in Pink and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Paramount Home Entertainment is releasing five of those classic films — Pretty In Pink, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, She’s Having a Baby, and Some Kind of Wonderful — in a new Blu-ray collection (this also marks the first appearance of She’s Having a Baby and Some Kind of Wonderful on Blu-ray). The set also includes access to a digital copy of each film.

With the exception of “BACK TO WONDERFUL: A Conversation with director Howard Deutch” on the Some Kind of Wonderful bonus content list, most of the extras have appeared in previous releases. However, with that additional bonus as well as the premiere release of two of the films on Blu-ray, this may be a good time to consider adding this collection to your library. Fans can grab the Blu-ray set on Amazon, available now for $19.99 (which, considering that you get five classic films as well as all the bonus content, is a pretty good deal).
