32 Days of Halloween XIII
Movie Night #10
As always, sequels beget sequels. With Universal scoring with turning everything else into a franchise, it was time to do so with 1932’s The Mummy, although with basically nothing directly linking it to the first film–other than the re-use of some footage. It apparently also used the score from Son of Frankenstein to save a few bucks. (And you thought they only did that with “Swan Lake.”)
It was directed by Christy Cabanne (the 1934 Jane Eyre) and stars George Zucco (House of Frankenstein), Dick Foran (Atomic Submarine), Peggy Moran (Horror Island), and Wallace Ford (Freaks). Enjoy.
The best way to own this is to own the whole damn series, which you can do with the Legacy Collection Blu-Ray.
