#TrackoftheDay: “Cranes in the Sky”

So we begin again. And what better place to pick up where we left off than with this, a Solange cover of “Cranes in the Sky.” The original is great with its strings (Synths? My half-deaf self can’t tell anymore.) because you know I’m a sucker for strings of all sorts.

I love how the upbeat words of the original are brought in closer to the music, which here is a finely tuned machine grinding away. I mean…listen to that bass guitar. It could take your face off. Everything you want from a cover. Find it on their Bandcamp page.
