Even if you’ve never watched The Big Bang Theory, you’ve probably felt some of its wide-reaching fringe effects (there’s even a Brazilian bee species named after Sheldon Cooper’s catchphrase, “Bazinga!”). Like millions of others, though, you may well be a fan (and perhaps a mega-fan) of the series. If one or more members of your own “nerd herd” land in the latter category, the new complete series set just released from Warner Brothers may be the perfect gift for them (or for yourself!) this holiday season.
“The Big Bang Theory follows the irresistible trajectory of genius best buddies Leonard and Sheldon. Joined by street-smart Penny, aerospace engineer Howard, astrophysicist Raj, microbiologist Bernadette and neurobiologist Amy, the friends solve quotidian conundrums posed by academia, family and video games. What they prove, across twelve beloved seasons, is that the element that matters most in the universe is friendship.” — from Warner Brothers
Available for the first time in a set with all twelve seasons, The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Series Limited Edition Set comes in Blu-ray and DVD options. Both sets include all twelve seasons (279 episodes) of the show, along with twelve hours of previously released special features spanning all seasons. In addition to what fans have already had access to in the past, both formats of the Complete Series Limited Edition Set also boast a bonus disc with three exclusive never-before-seen featurettes:
- The Big Bang Theory: A Retrospective (thoughts and memories from the cast and producers on the series as a whole)
- All the Stars in the BBT Universe (cast and crew comment on the many guest stars who have appeared on the show)
- BBT’s Greatest Hits: 12 Years of Comedy in 24 Minutes (a collection of the funniest moments from all twelve seasons)
Both sets also include a 32-page episode guide with an introduction from creator / executive producer Chuck Lorre and new behind-the-scenes cast photos.
The Blu-ray version of the set takes things up a notch by also featuring fun lay-flat book packaging with an amusing pop-up as well as a digital copy so fans can watch the content anywhere (a significant plus, as the set is fairly sizeable and not exactly something you’re likely to slip into a laptop case).
Both the DVD and the Blu-ray formats of The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Series are now available on Amazon for $129.99 and $179.93, respectively (do be aware that the current versions are limited edition, so if you like one or both, grab them while you can!)
