While the George Romero Dead series is obviously near and dear to our hearts, let us not forget the John Russo side of the house–he who gave us the excellent, original Return of the Living Dead. Along those lines, we have the band Zombies! Organize!! and their track based on the film, “Trioxin.”
While we’re on the topic of music, let’s check out the EP A Dollop of HP from the band I Monster. You know them even if you don’t know them…their song “The Blue Wrath” opened Shaun of the Dead. Here they give us a version of the story The Music of Erich Zann.
And lastly, 1946’s She-Wolf of London rounds our evening’s festivities. It’s helmed by Jean Yarbrough (King of the Zombies) and stars June Lockhart (yes, she of original Lost in Space fame) as (perhaps) the titular character. I think you can deduce from the title that murders are taking place around London, with a werewolf slowly being suspected…and Lockhart’s character thinks she’s it. Well, I think we’ve all had days like that.
