Riverdale follows the characters of the Archie Comics series as they tangle with love, loss, and divided loyalties. Season Two sees Archie reeling from his father’s shooting at the hand of the Black Hood, while Betty and Jughead’s relationship is tested as he joins the Southside Serpents and her brother Chic suddenly returns. Veronica’s father brings his own machinations to the mix, and the town struggles to keep itself together while under the shadow of the Black Hood and a dangerous new drug sweeping through the teenage population. Now out on Blu-ray and DVD is Riverdale: The Complete Second Season, which includes all twenty-two episodes from Season Two along with two hours of bonus content. Extras include four featurettes, the Riverdale 2017 Comic-Con panel, deleted scenes, and a gag reel. Riverdale: The Complete Second Season is available on Amazon, with the Blu-ray priced at $37.87 and the DVD at $24.99.
Oliver Queen can conquer any challenge in his secret identity as the Green Arrow– but can he embrace his new identity as a father? In Season Six of Arrow, Queen strives to protect the city both as its mayor and its vigilante superhero while contending with enemies Black Siren, Vigilante, Ricardo Diaz, Cayden James, and others. With relations between his team beginning to break down, Queen must do all in his power to fight past and present enemies before Star City is lost for good. Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season is out now on Blu-ray and DVD, featuring all twenty-three episodes as well as several extras. Special features include all four DC super hero crossover episodes (with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Supergirl), three featurettes focusing on Deathstroke, the crossover / Earth-X, and Cayden James, and a best-of compilation of DC TV’s Comic-Con panels from 2017. Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season is available on Amazon on Blu-ray and DVD (for $40.70 and $29.96, respectively).
In Season Four of Gotham, Bruce Wayne begins to follow his future path toward becoming the caped crusader as he sees Penguin, Riddler, Barbara Kean, Tabitha Galavan, and Poison Ivy threatening his beloved city. With the help of his trainer Ra’s al Ghul, his butler Alfred, and previous Wayne Enterprises executive Lucius Fox, Bruce begins to form his vigilante identity in an attempt to bolster the peace-keeping efforts of Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock. Gotham: The Complete Fourth Season is out today on DVD and Blu-ray, including all twenty-two episodes of the fourth season, two featurettes (“Solomon Grundy: Born on a Monday” and “The Sirens Take Gotham”), the best-of Comic-Con compilation featured in the Arrow extras above, and deleted scenes. Along with his pals Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, Aquaman must face enemies in the air, on land, and in the sea in Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis, the latest animated feature from LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes. Facing an attack from Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns, Aquaman must make the difficult choice to leave his kingdom to answer the call of the Justice League or risk the destruction of all he holds dear. DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman – Rage of Atlantis is now out in a Blu-ray Combo Set and DVD. There are no bonus features on this one, but (while supplies last) both formats include a limited-edition exclusive Jessica Cruz / Green Lantern LEGO minifigure. The film is available now on Amazon on DVD (for $9.99) and on Blu-ray Combo Pack (for $14.99).
In The Death of Superman, an asteroid crashes into the ocean bringing an uncontrollable force (known only as “Doomsday”), compelling Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, and the rest of the Justice League come together to fight the all-powerful enemy and save Metropolis. As the battle comes to a head, Superman and Doomsday face each other in the ultimate showdown, with the outcome determining the fate not only of Metropolis, but Earth itself. The Death of Superman is out now on DVD, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and Blu-ray 4K Combo Pack. The Blu-ray sets boast a few bonus features, including the featurette “Death of Superman: The Brawl that Topped Them All”, two bonus cartoons from the DC Comics Vault, and a sneak peek at Reign of the Supermen, DC Universe’s next animated movie set to be released in 2019. All formats are available on Amazon, with the DVD priced at $12.96, the Blu-ray Combo Pack at $17.96, and the Blu-ray 4K Combo Pack at $24.99. There is also a limited-edition gift set (currently on Amazon for $23.74) which includes a Death of Superman figurine.
