32 Days of Halloween X, Day 28: The Lady and the Monster!

Lady and the Monster (1944)

Things just wouldn’t feel right around here without posting something available that stars Burgess Meredith. Thus we go to 1953 and the anthology series Tales of Tomorrow, which has a fantastic opening sequence to kick things off. Then what follows is “The Great Silence.” Why are people losing the ability to speak? An illiterate mountain man is about to find out.

For tonight’s feature we go backwards in time a bit to 1944. It’s The Lady and the Monster, yet another adaptation of Curt Siodmak’s Donovan’s Brain. There’s this brain, you see, from a guy named Donovan. And after Donovan’s body has died, a scientist is experimenting with keeping it alive but the result is a telepathic entity that starts to manipulate things to its own advantage. Enjoy.
