32 Days of Halloween IX, Day 8: Fiend Without a Face!

Fiend Without a Face

So tonight we open with a bit of Edgar Allan Poe, since we all need a dose of that from time to time. Especially when brought to you via the vocal cords of Sir Christopher Lee. It is one of my personal favorites, “The Cask of Amontillado.” Yes, for the love of God.

A nice gumbo of sci-fi horror traits of the time, 1958’s Fiend Without a Face combines an invisible menace, replicating life forms, atomic power and mental abilities beyond those of mere mortals. It stars Marshall Thompson ( It! The Terror from Beyond Space) and is apparently one of the goriest B-movies of the day, freaking out the British censors. I’m sort of surprised we haven’t seen a musical version of this, to be honest. Enjoy.
