The Sound Board #32: Everybody Wants to Rule the Release Schedule For the World

Real Genius: Popcorn Storm

This podcast generally covers music and other transgressions. This month’s episode is run by Prof. Tuffley, stars Rob Levy and co-stars Widgett as the Beaver.

This episode’s central topic is: the international release schedule. Why hasn’t the industry figured out to just give the people what they want in a timely fashion? We explore it. Also, we look forward to 2013 and backward to our favorites from 2012. There’s also a method for using Coachella to figure out the upcoming new release schedule. We also say goodbye to Dave Brubeck, discuss the retro futurism of Amazon’s Auto Rip, wonder what Dr. Dre and Trent Reznor are getting up to, ponder the return to music of Justin Timberlake, ponder what the hell this Beyonce lip sync thing is all about, marvel at how Jonathan Coulton is kicking Glee‘s arse, and congratulate Adele for selling even more albums.

  • Gentlemen:
Another great podcast. And, no, you did not bring about the return of Justin Timberlake by invoking his name. I believe he received a large advance from his record label and ,now, he needs to pay the piper or he will have to repay the advance.
