Agree with you very closely, but i think i would have to say i enjoyed this one a bit more than Royale, and way more than Quantum. One thing that wasn’t mentioned here, and this may not be the place for it (yeah, i’ll be bringing this up on WEJ) is Adele. As far as i am concerned, she can sing every Bond theme song form now until the earth crashes into the sun. And the ‘interlude’ between the first scene and the rest of the film where Bond movies show the montage of images and give opening credits…fantastic. I think you need to add at least a half a cup to this.
Serv,
I’m with on Adele. Bring on more title songs!
Unfortunately from some reason, my long comment has not appeared on here. What I would say is, Skyfall wields Bond formula as ably as The Avengers used Marvel and superhero structure.
I’d disagree with 4 cups, and say the film upon more viewings continues to rise as one of the top films of the year. This will be a film that haunt the film consciousness for a long time, and will persist as a highlight in the history of Bond.
This is standout literate entertainment that can withstand the barbs of today and the winds of time. By my scale, 5 out of 5 stars.
