32 Days of Halloween VI, Day 3: Zombie Cat!

Zombie Cat: Tale of a Decomposing Kitty

Zombie animals. They’re nothing new. We’ve discussed zombie dinosaurs, a zombie bear, even a zombie penguin. (Okay, admittedly, he was a guy masquerading as a penguin. As you do.) Of course, Hitman had a delightful two-parter about a zombie-infested aquarium and Monster Island had all manner of undead beasties.

But a Zombie Cat? Yes, I know part of the problem is: how can you tell if a cat is evil or not, the very-allergic-to-cats man asked. In this case, in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, our “hero” Tiddles is infected and in a bad way. Well, a worse way–considering the poor thing’s torn up and undead. Can Tiddles and his former owner come to an agreement? Or will this turn out to be simply Meow Mix of the Dead?

The book’s full title is Zombie Cat: The Tale of a Decomposing Kitty, with words by Isabel Atherton and cute (but sick) illustrations by Bethany Straker. (Example of the latter: If an inquisitive infected bunny doesn’t make you laugh, then you’re on the wrong website.) Check out the sample animation/trailer here:

Brief but quite disturbed, the book from Skyhorse Publishing is the obvious answer to the question of “What should I give that cat-loving friend of mine for (x) holiday?” And better yet, both the book and the Kindle versions are in the neighborhood of $7.
