It’s Dear Santa, out from Image Entertainment on DVD. And here’s what they have to say for themselves:
Crystal (Amy Acker, Catch Me If You Can, “Alias”) is an incurable shopaholic–irresponsible, careless and carefree. That is, until her wealthy parents give her an ultimatum: change her irresponsible ways by Christmas or they will cut her off without a cent. With no job or romantic prospects, it looks like the party’s over for this party girl. But when Crystal finds seven year-old Olivia’s (Emma Duke, “L.A. Forensics”) letter to Santa asking for a new wife for her widowed dad Derek (David Haydn-Jones, The Last Kiss) the shopping victim becomes Santa’s helper as Crystal vows to win over father and daughter before the fast-approaching holiday deadline. Volunteering at Derek’s struggling soup kitchen, Crystal also struggles, but she is determined to prove to him and herself that there’s more to her than just credit cards and cappuccinos. Only Derek’s jealous and calculating girlfriend (Gina Holden, Fantastic Four, “Harper’s Island”) stands between her and her newfound happiness.
