Music Monday: Ladytron, Alamaailman Vasarat, Stateside Menace & More…

More music picks for your Monday, co-curated by Rob Levy. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music.

Ladytron: Gravity the Seducer
Alamaailman Vasarat: Kaarmelautakunta

[ad#shortpost]
Rob brings us the new release from Ladytron, Gravity the Seducer. Here’s the video for the new single, “White Elephant.”

The album’s available starting tomorrow as an MP3 download or CD. The CD’s only $1 more than the download. So. Just FYI.

Here’s a track and I don’t even remember how I found it. But it’s “Vasaraasialainen.” The band is Alamaailman Vasarat. I don’t know what any of it means, but I dig the hell out of it.

This performance is apparently from the DVD Haudasta Lomilla, which isn’t available for Region 1, alas. And the studio version of the track is from an album whose name breaks Amazon. So I can’t even tell you what it is. The cover art and Wikipedia says it’s Käärmelautakunta. I just know it’s here.

Stateside Menace: Desperate Times
Neutral Milk Hotel: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

I do enjoy this. It’s The Stateside Menace. This is the track “Dance Rock Sellout” from their album Desperate Times. I feel an affinity for anything that equates love with sharp things. I know, I’m odd.

You can snag the entire album (and stream it and check out more) at their Bandcamp page.

Rob also brings us Neutral Milk Hotel and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Here’s the title track:

That’s available as both a CD and MP3 download from Amazon.

Howard Tate
Pixies: Bossanova

I go back to a classic here from Howard Tate, “8 Days on the Road.” It’s just so good.

His self-titled album was reissued in 2001. You can snag it via Amazon as a CD or MP3 download.

And lastly, Rob throws us the Pixies classic album Bossanova. I grabbed the track “All Over the World.” Here tis.

The CD on this one is just a few pence cheaper than the MP3 download. So, there’s your choices.
