It’s another release of Tom Baker Doctor Who on DVD from BBC Home Video, Doctor Who: The Seeds of Doom. Here’s what they have to say for themselves:
The Doctor (Baker) and Sarah Jane (Elisabeth Sladen) rush to investigate when scientists unearth two seedpods deep in the arctic permafrost. Soon the Doctor’s worst fears are confirmed: the pods house Krynoids, one of the most parasitic and dangerous life forms in the universe. One of the creatures has already infected a scientist, and now a hideous monster is rampaging through the base, intent on total destruction. When the second pod is stolen amidst the escalating carnage, it is transported into the hands of the insane botanist Harrison Chase (Tony Beckley), where he will allow the pod to split open from his mansion in England. Both the ruthless millionaire and the rapidly growing carnivorous Krynoid are intent on infecting and destroying the entire world. In addition to containing this classic adventure, the DVD contains bonus materials including audio commentary with actors Baker, John Challis, Kenneth Gilbert and Michael McStay, producer Philip Hinchcliffe, writer Robert Banks Stewart, replacement designers Roger Murray-Leach and Joggs Carnfield, and much more.
