Music Monday: Japan, Girl Talk and Roommate

More music picks for your Monday. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music.

Japan: Assemblage
Girl Talk: All Day
Roommate: Guilty Rainbow

[ad#shortpost]This week we have two picks from Rob and one from Widge. First up, we have Japan and their album Assemblage. Sadly, Rob brings this to our attention due to the recent loss of Mick Karn, the band’s bassist. He died January 4th of cancer. Here we have a live performance (I assume it’s live, I’m not familiar enough with the various versions of the song to say for certain) from 1979 of “Adolescent Sex.”

Assemblage is available from Amazon.

Next, we have Girl Talk and his latest album, All Day. It’s nothing but one giant mashup and as a result, isn’t for sale anywhere…instead it’s available as a free download here. It’s apparently intended to be listened to as one continuous song, but we’ll opt for the first “track,” “Oh No.” (NSFW lyrics, we suggest the use of headphones.)

And lastly, we have Widge’s pick: “Snow Globe” from the Chicago band Roommate. The album, Guilty Rainbow, won’t be out until March. Follow the direct link to get your own free download of the song.
