In the 2002 timeframe, Nick Frost presented a series called Danger! 50,000 Volts! in which he was a survival expert, getting you out of all kinds of life-threatening jams: from a hippo attack to freezing to death. Appearing as an extra on the DVD release was a bonus episode entitled “Danger! 50,000 Zombies!” where Frost tackled the titular subject along with the help of his old friend, Dr. Russell Fell.
In other words, it’s basically what happens when you give two maniacs a camera and a half-hour to kill. Well, and some zombies to kill as well.
It makes sense to do this, since last year at this time we were checking out Jonathan Maberry’s 2009 DragonCon panel (his 2010 will be up as part of this year’s 32 Days of Halloween, to be sure) and Maberry knows zombies. The year before that we were checking out one of my favorite Halloweeny shorts, “Evelyn: The Cutest Evil Dead Girl”. And Year One, it was the trailer for the original Haunting.
So you see, it’s a bit of an undead theme we’re going for here. That’s our story, anyway. We’re sticking to it.

The series is available on DVD Region 1 from Rykodisc. And any self-respecting fan of Frost (or, um, Dr. Fell) will want it.
I can’t believe I haven’t seen this before! Bloody brilliant!
