It’s Buena Vista Social Club, the docu that Wim Wenders directed about Cuban musicians catapulted into stardom. It is a fantastic docu, not just for the music, but the musicians as characters (Compay Segundo is one of the smoothest cats who ever lived), and the story about how they wound up where they were. We’ve got a Music Makers version of the movie, which couples it with a sampler from the other Music Makers films. There’s one Buena Vista Social Club track on here. So that’s cool, but you really need the actual soundtrack. And their 2-CD Carnegie Hall Live set.
We do have a copy of this Music Makers set (the movie DVD plus the Music Makers sampler CD) to give away. Want to win it? Enter using the form below and enter once a day. If we draw your name when the contest ends, you snag it. Good luck!
