So Rob sent me this: not sure where this was, but James Brown at first coaxes Michael Jackson up on stage. Then, according to Dr. Brown, Jackson insisted that Prince get pulled up on stage as well.

Jackson: “If you’re going to call me up here, seriously, call that freaky Prince guy up here too. Bet you a hundred he takes off his shirt.”
Brown: “Okay, I’ll take that bet.”
They certainly were having plenty of conferences-on-the-mound–could have happened.
