Howard Hawks directing John Wayne and Robert Mitchum in a western? Hell yes! And not just that, but Paramount is releasing it as a two-disc actually-special edition, since this is one of their Centennial Collection line. There’s two commentaries on this one–and I’m a commentary junkie as I know you probably are as well–one by Peter Bogdanovich and the other by film critic Richard Schickel with actor Ed Asner and author Todd McCarthy as well. Then on disc two, we’re looking at a seven-part featurette, a featurette from 1967–“The Artist and the American West”–and then a John Wayne remembrance.
Here, have a trailer:
“Let’s make some music!” Badass.
Anyway, Paramount has got two copies of this set aside for us to give away. Want to win a copy for yourself? Sure you do. Enter using the form below–and enter once a day–and if we draw your name from the prize ten gallon hat when we’re through, then you win. Good luck.
