Skycycle Roller Coaster Runs on Pedal Power

Skycycle in Japan: pedal-powered roller coaster

I love roller coasters. I think one of my favorites is the Hulk coaster at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure in Orlando. It’s just awesome in its powerful brutality. Probably somewhere on the opposite end of the spectrum, though, is this “skycycle” in Japan, a pedal-powered roller coaster. The only frustrating thing about this is that this page shows you the track…but what’s the ride like? I mean, granted, a loop-the-loop is no doubt out of the question, but it’s hard to believe nobody’s recorded their trek on it for posterity. Somebody did the Haunted Mansion when it was stuck, somebody even recorded this thing. I would hope somebody over in Japan would get on that. And if you do, please send me a link.

  • I am sure the experience is not the same all the time. With tandem bicycles there will always be the one person who does all the leg work and the others see it as a way to slack off.
