So I monitor all incoming links to the site. I do this because I’m an attention whore–and you know this, because I admit this to you freely. I saw one that appeared to be interesting: a blog called Worthless Stuff. They appear to live up to their namesake by slagging off things they consider to be bad. And we’re their Worthless Blog of the Day!
Here’s the first part of their review:
Imagine that guy in highschool that was really odd, and whenever things came out of his mouth, you couldn’t really tell if they were serious or just really bizzare? Yeah, well that’s this blog, with a little but of advertising around it. Oh wait, did I say little advertising? No there’s a ton actually.
And then there’s a link to “Read More”. So I can’t wait to hear the rest of this, so I click it and…
Huh. That’s weird. I tried in IE. That didn’t work either. I asked Scott to check it out–nothing. That’s odd. So…you might not be able to see it since I had to shrink down the image to make room for this ton of advertising, but it says “You’re seeing this error because you have DEBUG = True in your Django settings file. Change that to False, and Django will display a standard 404 page.”
Django. I’ve heard of that, but I don’t remember what it is. I look up Django and find this:
That’s right. “The Web framework for perfectionists with deadlines.”
This is the most entertaining review we’ve ever received. On many levels. I tried to find who else had been gifted with “Worthless Blog of the Day” but I can’t seem to find anything on the site. So I can only assume that we’re the first. Thanks, Worthless Stuff. We accept your honor and wish you many days of blogging to come.
