Okay, here’s a mystery. And maybe this has crossed some of your minds as well. Apart from this new double-disc ubermongo edition which we’ll discuss in a moment…who keeps buying Thriller? I mean, honestly, if you look at its track record, it keeps re-entering the charts in odd places and at odd times. You’d think with so many copies sold, there would be enough to pretty much cover everybody, and then when people died, their copies would get passed on so there wouldn’t be this ongoing purchasing of the album. I’m not saying it’s a bad album (that would be his next release–oh! I kill me), it’s quite the opposite, but damn, people. It’s sold a lot of copies. I’m just saying.
And…it’s going to sell a few more, methinks. No doubt due to this 25th Anniversary Edition, with a CD and DVD. Here’s what they tell us is on it:
Thriller: 25th Anniversary Edition will include the original album in its entirety as well as eight bonus tracks and a DVD featuring Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking short films from Thriller (“Thriller,” “Beat It,” and “Billie Jean”) and the artist’s Emmy-nominated breakout performance of “Billie Jean” from the legendary “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever” television special (first broadcast on NBC on May 16, 1983). This expanded edition premieres six audio tracks previously unreleased in any form: a new Kanye West remix of “Billie Jean”; a new 2008 version of “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” with Akon; a new 2008 version of “Beat It” with Fergie; will.i.am remixes of “The Girl Is Mine” and “P.Y.T.”; and “For All Time,” a rare unreleased cut from the original Thriller recording sessions, newly mixed and mastered by Michael Jackson.
So there you have it. Lots of bonus goodies. And hey–we have a copy here that you can win. Want it? If the answer is yes (and it probably is) you know what to do. Proceed, my friends…

I’m very afraid…but I actually want to see how my 3 young children would react to this stuff!
