Why do I read BLDG BLOG? Because they post articles with whacked out bits like this:
A few months back, Nature published an article stating that the “Earth beneath our feet might act as a gigantic circuit built by microbes to power their metabolic systems.” It’s not a planet at all, then, but a bio-electrical deposit rotating in space. A living battery.
Now if that doesn’t get your head spinning around to some awesome ideas–like the idea of harnessing said organic geological circuitry to act as a communication medium–then I don’t know what to do for you. Read the whole thing here.
