Time to feel old (again), because this year, as you might recall, is the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. As a result, the folks at Kotobukiya, maker of badass models, have come up with a beautiful special edition snap-together model, or as they put it, an Artfx statue.
This model was inspired by the designs of Ralph McQuarrie, conceptual artist on the Star Wars films, name known to geeks everywhere. The famous lightsaber battle from the first film in the original trilogy comes alive in 3D, with Luke’s added breathing apparatus that never made it to the film (but would later be needed by anyone who saw the prequel trilogy). Want to commemorate your favorite space opera with a kick-ass model from Japan? Proceed!
P.S. Did we mention this thing will run you, in some circles, about $200? Yeah.
