Jason over at Scar Stuff has posted a veritable treasure trove of great retro bits: mail order ads from magazines like Mad Monsters and Modern Monsters and the like.
What could you send away for? A new! horrifying! monster record player (only $1.98!). Vampire photos! And a set of 10 soft, slimy, ugly “Horribles” (only $1.00!).
What’s sad is that any of these cheap mail order bits would probably fetch a fortune off of eBay today. And let all us people who feel really old right now sort of sigh and go back to whatever it was we were doing.
