I first ran into Lord Buckley when I heard the audio of his beatnikized version of “Friends, Romans, countrymen.” It reminded me a lot of another version of Julius Caesar – the one performed by The Down Home Players, as envisioned by the comedic madman Brother Dave Gardner. I really need to lay hands upon some more of Buckley’s stuff.
