Panera says that the burrito is a sandwich and as a result, since they’re the only sandwich shoppe contracted to be in a particular shopping center, Qdoba Mexican Grill shouldn’t be allowed in. They were so convinced that they were right in this matter, they took it to a judge. The judge listened to the dictionary, the USDA, and a chef from Cambridge instead.
I’d love it if people would go into Paneras today and ask for an Asiago Roast Beef Burrito. Or a Turkey Caprese Burrito. Just to see the reactions of the folks who work at Panera.
If the Panera people are anything like the usual wage slave food service drones, it won’t even register.
Does this means I have to start thinking that the American justice system works?
