This Just In: That Girl Season One From Shout Factory

Shout! Factory is bringing the Marlo Thomas series to DVD this coming Tuesday, and fans will rejoice because the first season is pretty well stacked. For those who were not even sparkles in their father’s trousers when the series originally aired (1966), here’s the helpful gist: Thomas plays Ann Marie, who’s trying to make it as an actress in New York. She has a boyfriend. She has parents. She wears clothes that will scare you. But that’s okay, because the show has held up better than one might expect.

The original pilot episode is here as well as interviews with Thomas as well as series co-creator Bill Persky. Then the two provide commentaries on four episodes. Which instantly puts it head and shoulders above most television sets out there. So kudos to Shout! Factory for the sweet treatment.
