This Just In: WB TV on DVD

Dallas Season 3 DVD

A TV movie and two boxed sets to talk about this time around, recent releases all from Warner Brothers.

First up, there’s Dallas. Yes, if you love prime-time soaps then you’re all over this one. And let’s face it, the cliffhanger to this third season got everybody involved. All except you whippersnappers who were not even a gleam in your father’s pants at that point. “Who Shot J.R.?” ended the season. There’s a new docu covering this phenom along with commentary by Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray on two of the twenty-five episodes here. This is a five-disc set. Check out the official site here. (Streeted 8/9).
This recent film about Evel Knievel has hit DVD as well. Starring George Eads of CSI fame as the man himself and Jaime Pressly as his wife, it’s got the stunts needed but suffers a little in bringing the complete story of the man to light. But if you’re a fan of the daredevil, it’s worth a rental. Comes with a commentary by Eads and the director. Check out the official site here. (Streeted 8/2).

For fans of the show or those who are just getting turned on to David Carradine by his appearance in Kill Bill, here’s the third season of Kung Fu: all twenty-four episodes spread across four discs. In addition to commentary on two episodes by Carradine, there’s an all-new intro to the season plus a docu where Carradine goes back to the Shaolin Temple Monastery. Check out the official site here. (Streeted 8/23).

  • I have the season 9 of the Waltons, and I was wondering why all of the episodes are not included in the final season?

  • Laura: I don’t know, I’m afraid…I’m not an expert on the show…Wikipedia (although not always accurate, admittedly), does say 22 episodes and that the DVD has them all…what’s missing exactly since you have a copy there?
