Apparently crocodiles have immune systems that are tough as hell: they have evolved to where bacteria gets tracked down and taken out with extreme prejudice.
Adam Britton, Australian scientist, says, “The crocodile has an immune system which attaches to bacteria and tears it apart and it explodes. It’s like putting a gun to the head of the bacteria and pulling the trigger.”
That’s right: that’s called execution style, baby. We know that because we, ah, watch a lot of Law & Order. They’re looking to figure out how to use this to help us humans against stuff like HIV. Excellent.
